Issue

During November, in the lead up to Christmas trade, Taskaler was approached by a technology accessories brand.  Two key people in their accounts team had left during their busiest sales season.  

To make matters worse their integration with Amazon, one of their main sales channels, had broken.  Thousands of reconciliations had to be performed manually every day, and the remaining team members were under real pressure.

The client was looking for an outsourcer who could help resolve their issues quickly.

Approach & Analysis

Taskaler work with clients in different ways according to their objectives and ways of working. This particular client wanted to be very involved in the day-to-day management of tasks. We:

  • Set up processes for onboarding and moving the work over.
  • Fully checked the reconciliation processes in place and proactively recorded and documented the processes, so the client could use the materials for future training programmes.
  • Worked as an extension of the client’s team, with daily stand-up calls, and clarification chats as required.

Solution

Within a month Taskaler had 2 experienced and skilled finance specialists recruited, trained and working on clearing the backlog of reconciliations:

They worked on accounts across multiple currencies and territories, including: the UK, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Turkey, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand and the USA.

Up and running

The team picked up work immediately and trained on the job, flagging and recording nuances in the reconciliation rules. Working across payments from multiple different websites and  gateways.
